Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for a part-time Summer Enrichment English Language Development Teacher to work the Summer Enrichment Program at Durango High School.  Colorado Teaching License required.  Experience working with students acquiring English Language Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills required.  Endorsement in Culturally Linguistically Development preferred. 

 

Goal:  Provide recent immigrant students with an opportunity to continue their English language acquisition journey beyond the school year.  Build confidence and increase English language proficiency through real-world applications of language and literacy so that students begin the 24-25 school year ready to engage and thrive in content area instruction in English.

 

This will be a 4 week enrichment opportunity.  The dates and times are:

Class Schedule:  

Week 1: July     16, 17, 18   - 9:00am  to 11:00am

Week 2: July     23, 24, 25    - 9:00am  to 11:00am

Week 3: July/Aug  30, 31, 1   - 9:00am  to 11:00am

Week 4: Aug      6, 7, 8     - 9:00am  to 11:00am
